EXCERPT FROM THE INTERVIEW
What matters, I think, is that a certain group of people keep producing art and others take it in. That expression of optimism enriches everyone, and that’s the purpose of the percentage of the population who are artists: to nourish with their art. If there was no one to feed we wouldn’t plant a crop. But, since there is always hunger, we plant. When we know all there is to know about a field, we begin to learn the real mystery, but the mystery is bigger than our capacity to understand it. That realization is the great pleasure.
